Umair Majeed

Umair Majeed is the co-founder and CEO of Datics AI, an AI product engineering company based in Austin, Texas, that builds AI into software products customers already rely on. He has worked in data and AI since 2017 and has led Datics Solutions LLC from Austin since August 2024.

He started Datics in 2018 with his brother Rana Umar Majeed and bootstrapped it from two people to multi-million-dollar annual recurring revenue. In 2026 Datics joined the Vixul Accelerator in Austin.

His focus is brownfield AI: finding where AI makes a real difference in an established product, deciding what to build first, and getting it into production without a rebuild. He starts with the customers and their workflows, not the model, keeps a person in control where the risk calls for it, and measures each capability once it ships.

Before Datics he worked on the big data team at Systems Limited and did data science research at the Information Technology University and Addo AI. He holds a computer science degree from FAST-NUCES, studied data science through UC San Diego's MicroMasters program and is an AWS Certified AI Practitioner. As fractional Chief Development Officer for a U.S. software company, he led delivery of a property tax platform adopted by sheriffs' offices in Louisiana and later acquired. Datics has pitched at Web Summit in Lisbon and exhibited at Collision in Toronto.

He writes about deciding where AI belongs in an established product, what it costs and how to get it into production, for more than 13,000 followers on LinkedIn.
