Leadership-development practice app

EdTech · Learning App / Mobile & Desktop

A leadership-development practice app taken from the web to iOS, Android and desktop

A leadership-development method, delivered as short daily exercises built on seven inner archetypes, already ran as a web app. Datics turned it into native apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux from the same codebase, with notifications and a Google Play release.

Simplified view of what Datics built

The starting point

A working web app: a daily exercise drawn from a curated deck, complete or skip, notes and reflections, and exercise history, synced to each person's account.

What had to change

A daily habit lives on the phone. People needed the practice on the devices they carry, with reminders, not only in a browser tab.

What couldn't break

One codebase had to keep serving web, mobile and desktop, with accounts and progress staying in sync everywhere.

Why this was hard

Packaging one web codebase for app stores and three desktop operating systems means native notifications, platform builds and store requirements for each target, without forking the product.

What Datics changed

Datics evaluated the options, then used Capacitor to ship iOS and Android apps and Electron to ship Windows, macOS and Linux apps from the existing codebase, added local notifications for the daily practice, released to Google Play and documented the build and release process.

About four weeks from evaluation to store release, with project documentation handed over.

Native mobile apps

iOS and Android from the existing codebase, via Capacitor.

Desktop apps

Windows, macOS and Linux builds, via Electron.

Daily reminders

Local notifications that bring people back to the practice.

Store release

Published on Google Play, with build documentation.

How it works

Connects to: Supabase for authentication and data.

  1. 1

    Daily Exercise

Where the day's practice is drawn, completed or skipped.

  2. 2

    Reflections

Where notes and exercise history are kept.

  3. 3

    Every Device

Where the same account syncs across phone, desktop and web.

Runs within: Individual learner accounts.

Engagement at a glance

The daily practice now lives on the devices people carry, with reminders, from the same codebase as the web app.

What this unlocked

The natural next step is adaptive practice: an AI coach that picks the next exercise from how the learner did, using the same rubric-and-coaching pattern as our voice roleplay work.
