A process-improvement consultancy sells software that turns process documentation into structured models. Datics built it into a subscription product across six releases: Word and PDF in, standard BPMN 2.0 models out, then SOPs, job aids, analysis and a full versioned editor.

The starting point
The product's first version parsed process documents into BPMN models with Visio and PDF export.
What had to change
It needed to become a product people could buy and rely on: accounts and security, subscriptions, reliable exports and more of the documents process teams actually produce.
What couldn't break
Every release had to stay faithful to the source document and to the BPMN standard customers already use, while existing customers kept working.
Why this was hard
Generated output has to follow a strict standard exactly, export cleanly to tools like Visio, and stay traceable to the source, release after release.
What Datics changed
Datics delivered six releases: parsing and BPMN generation with Visio export; accounts, admin and security; Stripe subscriptions with plan-based access and a free trial; SOP and job-aid generation, AI process analysis and a rule engine for process-improvement checks; a full versioned model editor; and work instructions, RACI, Spanish, image-to-model and a retrieval-based support assistant.
One continuing product, released version by version from 2025, with the latest release moving hosting to containers on AWS.
